Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyy everyone,
I think it is about time I say this and just say it is truly the time to open up the hood and let some fresh eyes take IKEMEN:VOID for a real spin!
If you don't know what I mean, up until now, a lot of the heavy lifting, edge-case testing, and roster stress-testing has been handled internally aka by me and the devs, BUTTT to truly push this engine toward stability, we need a small, dedicated group of testers to put it through absolute chaos. (yes we beg)
We decided to officially open applications for 3 to 4 beta testers and bug reporters who want to help shape the foundation of VOID. ain't that neat?
We need people who are willing to throw their most cursed cheapies, heaviest legacy screenpacks, and massive custom character rosters at the engine on their own local setups.
Whether it is stress-testing crazy ass slot screenpacks, checking how obscure state mechanics behave, or testing out the limits of the Monster API (a special thing for cheapies uwu), your local environment will uncover quirks and edge cases that we simply cannot replicate in isolation. you do not need a pristine environment or a solved build to jump in; running into rough edges, unexpected crashes, and weird behavior is precisely what we need you to find.
To keep our workflow efficient and ensure every bug log actually gets addressed, we are setting up a dedicated thread called IKEMEN:VOID BUG REPORTS where only the 3-5 people will publicly report bugs regarding the engine (who knows after stable release it might be just opened for anyone to start reporting bugs in).
Anywho, this is happening because we need to use a clean, structured reporting format where you can log engine versions, screenpacks used, reproduction steps, and logs or clips when things break. keeping the bug reports cleanly separated from casual chat will make triage smooth and not make me tweak at the SLIGHTEST sight of disorganization
Other than that,
You're probably wondering. well mikazuki and devs of the void project, what do WE people get in return to test a very universal engine?
Well, it's simple. your time, technical intuition, and effort will get proper recognition, so we have put together a solid thank-you package for the team that steps up meaning the following:
Besides, by default anyone who agrees to be a beta tester/bug reporter will by default have access to dev builds (such as IKEMEN:VOID 3.0.2 RC1) to test out. but to keep in mind that in this version we STILL do have the following issues which is why we need YOUR help:
Note: a simple fix is to ig get huge roster screenpacks to load is to remove every "randomselect" or "blank" from the select.def to see if it reduces the 1st problem BUT that is something that is to obviously be TESTED. I tested it once on KD666 Screenpack and ofc it was able to load BUT, who knows might not work on ALL screenpacks.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO, If you live and breathe MUGEN and IKEMEN tech just like me and the homies, love breaking systems to see how they handle pressure , and want to help forge a truly robust universal engine (like this is truly a once in a lifetime moment), reach out or drop a reply to grab one of these spots. let us make VOID solid from the ground up.
The best part is, all of this is human-made. so we obviously need other humans to help us with this too! so, if you are INTERESTED. and you truly got some time on your hands whenever....
Fill out this application here please. (yes we are so serious we made a google form out of it)

This is to ensure you're just as serious as we are, and that you're just as passionate. remember, once jim-in you can't jim-out lol (iykyk)
Deadline for this is 10-31-2026
and, if we don't get exactly 3-4 testers, that is A-OK. we just need enough to help be willing to test the engine and report bugs.
Once, you agree to be on our team, you get a link to download IKEMEN:VOID 3.0.2 RC1 (and if anyone plans to leak this, I really don't care because, it still technically operates just like 3.0.1 except with slight improvements so just the same but different but it is still LACKING in a lot of areas anyways ESPECIALLY in regards of screenpacks. so it's nothing too crazy)
See you all there!

Well, it's simple. your time, technical intuition, and effort will get proper recognition, so we have put together a solid thank-you package for the team that steps up meaning the following:
- Testers who come on board will be awarded the exclusive VOID Explorer & Contributor/Collaborator role, on the discord giving you direct recognition for your work.
- You will also get permanent placement in the official engine text file credits as an official beta tester and bug reporter, along with...........
- Dedicated space on the IKEMEN:VOID website featuring links to your personal socials, websites, and community projects!!
Besides, by default anyone who agrees to be a beta tester/bug reporter will by default have access to dev builds (such as IKEMEN:VOID 3.0.2 RC1) to test out. but to keep in mind that in this version we STILL do have the following issues which is why we need YOUR help:
- Huge-roster screenpacks above ~5000 slots are still being refined
- WinMUGEN screenpacks may have select screen rendering quirks depending on their cell layout
- Some character slots may not load correctly at very high counts (9000+)
Note: a simple fix is to ig get huge roster screenpacks to load is to remove every "randomselect" or "blank" from the select.def to see if it reduces the 1st problem BUT that is something that is to obviously be TESTED.
