Screenpacks How to convert Mugen to Ikemen Go Part 1

Here is a clean, detailed step-by-step guide on how to convert MUGEN 1.1 → Ikemen GO, including what to copy, what to change, and how to fix common issues. I’ll also include simple “image-style diagrams” so you can visually understand the folder setup.

📁 STEP 1 — Download & Prepare Ikemen GO

Before anything:
  • Download Ikemen GO (latest nightly or stable)
  • Extract it into a clean folder

📦 STEP 2 — Copy Your MUGEN Files

Now take your MUGEN 1.1 folder and copy ONLY content files:

✔ Copy these folders:

MUGEN/
├── data → IKEMEN_GO/data
├── fonts → IKEMEN_GO/font
├── fight → IKEMEN_GO/fight

⚠️ IMPORTANT — DO NOT COPY THESE

These MUGEN files are NOT needed:
  • ❌ mugen.cfg
  • ❌ mugen.exe

🎮 STEP 3 — Screenpack Conversion (MUGEN 1.1 → Ikemen GO)

Most screen packs work BUT need small fixes.

📂 Copy screenpack

Copy your screenpack into:
  1. IKEMEN_GO/data/
  2. data/my_screenpack/
  3. motif = data/my_screenpack/system.def
Ikemen GO uses:
  1. save/config.ini

FINAL SUMMARY

To convert MUGEN 1.1 → Ikemen GO:
✔ Copy data
✔ Fix select.def paths
✔ Set correct screenpack in system.def
✔ Adjust resolution in config.ini
✔ Remove mugen.cfg completely
✔ Test and fix fonts/lifebars if needed
