Hello everyone and welcome! Whether you're a long-time MUGEN player, someone tired of the drama on other sites, or completely new to the scene we're glad you're here.

    Why DJB?

We created this community with one main goal: A drama-free, fair, and active MUGEN/IKEMEN space with unlimited downloads.

Unlike other sites, we are committed to:

    • Free Creator Spotlight system (no paid featuring)
    • Fair and consistent moderation
    • Encouraging new creators and beginners
    • Regular updates and improvements

    Why Many Are Leaving AK1

Many users have grown tired of the heavy moderation, random bans, inactive ownership, and the recent paid "featuring" system on AndersonKenya1. we respect the unlimited download model AK1 pioneered, but we believe it can be done better without the toxicity and paywalls.

    Creator Spotlight - Completely Free

Every week or two, we will highlight active and talented creators in our new Creator Spotlight forum. no payment required. just good work gets recognized.

First Spotlight is already up: OldGamer’s “IKEMEN Infinite Characters Arena” screen pack!

[IKEMEN GO] Complete Video Guide on How to make an Ikemen go theme

Honestly I'm glad that something like this exists. Hopefully, there will be someone some day who will be willing to show how to properly port characters.

Personally, I've already found a method of making and getting consistently high quality Mugen select portraits just from messing around. But I'm not sure if people would be interested in something like that. Considering that it requires having an art program, and the latest version of Fighter Factory.

Anyways, to make a simple note just in case you and or others aren't aware, in the past Notepad++ has had issues related to security. As they were hacked by state sponsored hackers. If you wish to read more, I was able to find this article here.

Archived version just in case the webpage ever goes down
Alternative archive link

The only alternative that I think could or would serve as a decent backup could be something like Visual Studio Code. Which if I am not mistaken even has extensions for things like MUGEN. But I wouldn't be too sure. I've only been using Fighter Factory to edit files as of late. So take that with a grain of salt.

Anyways thanks OldGamer for trying to teach me the ropes back then. Even if I was quite lost then, and still am admittedly even now lol

Thank you for letting ME and everyone know about this. I had no idea that Notepad++ got hijacked. I have always been using Notepad++ ever since it was made. But now I'm starting to educate myself to use Visual Studio Code. As an old man, I don't know anything in programming, but I'm very highly intelligent when learning new tricks or finding a way to help the community with better and easy understanding. I bow to you, sir, for this formal information.

Hey it's not a problem at all! I've heard from a computer scientist who's helped me in the past with many things that Notepad++ is very standard even in professional settings. So realistically you shouldn't have too many issues. I just know that it has had issues in the past from a friend of mine who has quite the special interested in open source programs. There's realistically no need to bow to me because I'm not fully educated on everything myself. That's just the best source that I could find in regards to this, so realistically it should be fine now. If Notepad++ is what you desire to use, you should be safe. Although you should keep a note for future reference to just be safe.

As far as Visual Code Simulator goes I've had very few issues with it. And as someone who isn't much of a programmer themselves, although having a bit of experience modifying games, and even some MUGEN files now, such as updating hitboxes and changing select portraits, and even adjusting health and damage values for some others, it's very much a process. Though I will say that you definitely have a lot more experience in areas that I and many others likely do not. Additionally, although I may not know your age, you don't sound all that old. Likely someone in his 30s. Which for some, people have said that 30 is the new 20, and I've heard from some others that you're only as young as you feel. Hell I've met people in their 30s who've told me that they still feel like a kid deep down. One of which even enjoys MUGEN just as a player! And he inspires me to try and learn more about the engine myself. But hey if anything, if I can learn how to make screen packs like you, I could probably show even more interesting or new tricks. But, it'll take a lot of time. Just don't be hard on yourself man. I just like to research if I feel like I can.

I made the recap for the next lesson, 9. I mentioned you so many creators can start using VS Code. Also, I removed Notepad++ and added VS Code.

I appreciate the mention, even if there wasn't a need to credit me for much of anything. I'm just Some Guy on the internet who enjoys MUGEN is all lol

and realistically, I just go by "Some Guy" because that's what I am. Just Some Guy XD
