According to the user who found this Baddo BaaronFor those who don't know, "kyouaku" (literally means "heinous," but is basically used as a general term for cheap characters) characters became very popular in the Japanese community from the late 2000s to today. A lot of people have probably seen the 21 and counting kyouakuchar folders on GetUploader, but there were actually precursors to this. The Kyouakuchar community was actually quite vast and had several bulletin boards, whose threads are mostly archived still, where people would discuss new releases and new coding techniques.
In 2008, it was the oldest hub for this community that I know of, and it was on a domain called uploader.jp (the now-defunct precursor to GetUploader). That's where this roster comes in, which aims to include every character documented as having been released or hosted across all archive.org captures of the folder while it was still active. Unfortunately, although many authors re-released their works elsewhere (like otto, for the most part), these characters were all lost as soon as the site went down entirely mid-2009, forcing the community to start from scratch. The good news is, especially thanks to archival efforts that took place in the early 2020s and I hope onward, a vast amount of these characters have been recovered for us all to enjoy. Some characters, like Pandra Egg and Daibutsu, remain lost for the time being and we can only hope they get uploaded someday. However, it's hard to find people who still have them and many have an old stigma against reuploading characters.TL;DR This roster tries to include everything that has currently been salvaged that was hosted in the oldest kyouakuchar (cheap character) folder which no longer exists. - Winmugen Plus.
- 4GB patched.
- Control layout might be nonstandard. Uses arrow key movement.
- Does not include the infinite combo-counter hex edit.
- Does not include stages extraneous from the screenpack.
- "kaioh" will crash immediately because, as ridiculous as it might sound, he was made to. The idea was that if the character just crashed the game, no one could ever beat it lol.
- Duplicates are simply different versions of characters. For example, there's the latest version of Genjitsu as well as the old one that's more commonly used. Not every version will be faithful to the uploader's period, but I did my best to come as close as possible.
- Missing (hopefully not for long): Bitstar, Daibutsu, Hiiragi Tsukasa Kyuketsuki [umauma], Mai (only because I don't know which Mai it is), Muscle Soft, Pandra Egg, testkfm, T-man, toomanygenerals, Trainingm, U general, XP Ultimate, youzyo
