I think these started being made around as early as 2008 and the PFP videos peaked from the years 2011/2012 to 2017 at latest. It's possible the Paramount Feature Presentation genre started to decline in mid to late 2018.

I remember being banned from my mom's laptop for a month because she caught me watching these lol.

Mind you, that was my first week on the internet at the time. I still watched them on the computers in my elementary school.

I watched smosh, minecraft videos, YTPs, beyblade battle videos, and youtubers in the creepy pasta community along with watching folks like pewdiepie and markiplier same with jacksepticeye. The only time I ever got caught slipping watching jumpscare videos is when I stumbled upon one out of curiosity or when a friend sent me a link lmao
