  • 🎉 WE ARE BACK ONLINE! 🎉

After few days of alot of maintenance and work. We are back online again.

So you might be wondering what happened?

After the moving with the servers its been good past few weeks until the day I woke up a week ago the server has been freezing/timing out

So I ask a Server provider what's happening they were quick to respond and told me one of the SSD have BAD sectors and needs replacing.

I have been waiting for the past 1 -3 days as they tried to get into the live cd to let me back up all my things but not working, had to do some maintance again to do a memory tests it took a long time, booting into the system I backed up everything and then the next few days was a nightmare fixing and gathering the things I needed and now its back up and running again.

Thank you to everyone for your support and waiting patiently to get it up and running. Sorry for the inconvenience

I wanted to introduce myself properly before providing said feedback. I’m Yoonbin16 (Mikazuki) I used to be a Supervisor on AK1 and I’ve been helping back up and organize a lot of the old content. I’ve already started moving my stuff here and encouraging others to do the same.

Since a lot of people are coming from AK1, I wanted to give some honest feedback to help make this forum even better than AK1 was at its peak:

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Adding a chatbox would be great for community interaction (people really miss that casual chatting vibe).
  • More profile options like an About Me section, Activity feed, favorite characters, etc. would make users feel more connected.
  • A simple “New Uploads” or “Recently Added” section on the homepage so people can easily see fresh content.
  • A introduction forum, along with that
I recommend having the same upload system as ak1 and mugen archive. Direct upload integration (so people don’t have to use external hosts as much).
  • Also, I recommend a unique idea of having a section dedicated to creators/authors and a guide of mugen/ikemen for beginners.
  • Option for users to appeal bans (something AK1 lacked)
  • Allow users to follow other creators to get notified when they upload.
  • Better mobile experience. (maybe even an app! none of those mugen sites have an app)
  • Weekly or monthly “Creator Spotlight” threads to highlight active uploaders.
  • Add a “Resource Pack” category for backgrounds, sounds, palettes, etc.
  • Poll feature, For community votes (e.g. “Best new character this month?”).
  • Achievement/badges for active uploaders (e.g. “100 Uploads”, “Helpful Member”).
  • Custom user titles (e.g. “Stage Maker”, “Character Editor”, “Veteran”).
  • Better search function (filter by character name, author, date, etc.).
  • Download counter on every file.
  • Related uploads section (suggest similar characters/stages).
  • Mobile-friendly upload page.
  • Regional / Language-based sections (e.g. Spanish-speaking creators, Japanese-inspired stages, etc.).
  • Monthly “Best Of” Awards voted by the community (Best Character, Best Stage, Most Improved, etc.).
  • Hall of Fame for legendary uploads or long-time contributors.
  • “Thank You” Wall where users can publicly thank creators.
  • “Character Request Board” with a bounty system (users offer points/rewards for requested characters).
  • MUGEN “Battle Arena” — Users submit characters and the community votes on matchups (with video results).
  • “Legacy Preservation” section — Dedicated archive for old/rare characters with historical notes.
  • “AI vs Traditional” tag/filter so people can choose what they want to see.
  • Weekly “Blind Test” — Upload anonymous characters and let the community guess the creator.
  • “Progress Tracker” for big projects (e.g. full game conversions) with public milestones.
  • “MUGEN University” — A learning section with tutorials, tips, and resource guides written by veterans.
  • Remove the cooldown for people to post, I just tried to re-upload a ton of stuff and it said I had to wait 80 seconds to post again, this can prevent activity from happening on the site especially during active and engaging threads.

I’m not trying to tell you how to run your site just giving feedback from someone who’s been around AK1 for a while and wants this place to succeed.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks again,
Yoonbin16 (Mikazuki)

Also just now realized but add people the ability to delete their posts and edit the entire post. so people won't have to request or reply under their post about a change/edit. also, you might want to rename your site a bit to include the title mugen. because when someone searches for a character and put mugen at the end. Only MUGEN Archive and Andersonkenyak1 come up. so if you want to have visitors coming to your website and have high traffic like them you have to incorporate Mugen into the forum name. this is extremely important because the site will struggle to grow if its just named doomjoshuaboy and mugen isn't included anywhere in the name.
