Juan by Quetzalcoatl_88

version: 1.0 (the way he was meant to be released)

what's new?

=technical stuff=

- improved the coding and physics for several hypers.

- added extra effects and extended scenes to several hypers.

- "bodyslam" move is completed all the way.

- the two remaining grapples were revised.

- the Pepito striker now appears for a short time.

- "space coke" and "mellow megaton blast" are now blockable.

- AI won't spam as much supers and hypers anymore. (I managed to

kick his ass with kung fu man, so his AI should be fine by my book)

- lowered the bar recovery rate. (to balance things out)

- adjusted hitsparks.

- fixed the slowdown problem caused by Lupe's dry ice bomb.

- Juan won't recover five bars automatically after using his shun goku satsu anymore.

=new material=

- added an extra intro and victory pose.

- added and replaced several sound effects here and there.

- added brand new jumping animations. Revised rolling and airdash animations.

- recolored all sprites and included six new palettes.

- added a turning animation.

- added a losing animation.

=================================

1) Juan's background

=================================

 Juan's full name is Juan De Pacas. His first name comes from the main character

of the Puerto Rican folktale of Juan Bobo, a young Puerto Rican boy who always

causes trouble by accident, and his last name comes from Cheech Marin's character,

Pedro De Pacas, from the Cheech and Chong movies. Juan is an avid marijuana smoker,

and stays true to the weed-loving counter-culture phenomenon that was rampant

throughout the 60's and 70's. Serving as Pepito's sidekick and right-hand man, Juan

makes his mark as the dopey and hard-headed one of the duo, and unlike Pepito, has a

more happy and optimistic personality. He is flirtacious to cute girls by nature, but

always manages to drive them away with cheesy pick-up lines and abysmal attempts at

chivalry. Despite Juan's ignorance of the events around him and the fact that he

usually serves as comic relief, he is Pepito's one and only best friend.
