After I released my first character, it apparently did pretty good, which later allowed me to think if I should make a new character. I decided to make a character that might look simple but had an easy gameplay. When I got interested in ChuChu Rocket, I played it, and I liked it. I especially liked the character that appears in the manual, Chuih, who never appears in the game. Since I couldn't find a Chuih that would have a normal gameplay at the time, I made my own one as my second character.

1. WHO IS CHUIH?

Chuih is a character that made his first appearance in the manual of the 1999 video game ChuChu Rocket. His name, pronounced as "Chuu-EE", comes from "ChuChu", a Japanese sound for mice that squeak. Chuih is a blue ChuChu who has sparkly, black eyes with white twinkles, and wears a spacesuit. He is the leader of his crew of other pilots, and is the pilot of the blue ChuChu Rocket. One of Chuih's most notable appearances is in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, where he, along with three other pilots (Chupea, Chubach, and Chubei), can be purchased for 25500 Sega Miles.

2. CHANGELOG

-v1.10 (June 25, 2026)
 *[CHANGE] Chuih's sprites were updated, especially his tail and his feet. The helmet's colour was also changed. The ChuChu's sprites were also updated.
 *[NERF] Ultimate is now blockable, with its chip damage being half of the damage it normally deals.
 *[BUFF] However, when the ultimate is blocked, its endlag is decreased to not leave Chuih vulnerable.
 *[REMOVE] Some frames in some animations, especially the ones where Chuih's mouth was open, to not look like his mouth is oddly big.
 *[ADD] The "super jump into aerial raves" combo, which has been brought back after a successful poll!
 *[ADD] Walking sounds.
 *[BUFF] When Chuih parries an attack, a pause occurs, giving him a chance to perform a combo before the oponent can recover from the animation.
 *[NERF] Sudden Rocket is now blockable when crouching.
 *[BUFF] However, Sudden Rocket is now an OTG. 
 *[NERF] Ground knockback for aerial normals was increased to prevent potential shorthop infinites.

 *[FIX] Due to an oversight, Sudden Rocket summoned two rockets, dealing broken damage.
 *[FIX] The intro and one of the winposes had an "illegal shadow color" debug error for the explod.

 *[ADD] Chuih can now change directions while airborne and perform shorter jumps.

 *[ADD] Jumping and landing sounds.
 *[ADD] Dodge, power charge and a super jump.
 *[CHANGE] Chuih's crouching Z is now a launcher, and his aerial Z knocks the opponent down, giving Chuih aerial raves.
 *[ADD] New special - Push Slide.
 *[EDIT] New readme style.
 *[ADD] New attacking sounds, as well as a new guard sound.
 *[NERF] Chip damage for specials and hypers.
 *[ADD] Push Block now plays a sound effect.

 *[CHANGE] Chuih's sprites received a noticeable overhaul, with his sprites looking more accurrate to his actual design.
  *[EDIT] As a result, Chuih's in-game size has been lowered from 2 to 1 due to bigger custom-made sprites.
  *[ADD] Not only that, but some new sprites were made as well, such as for the intro as well as for the Sudden Rocket hyper.
 *[ADD] Some more sounds.
 *[CHANGE] Renamed the folder and the definition file to just "Chuih" from "ChuihChu".
 *[EDIT] The last hit of Charge now deals soft knockdown.
  *[NERF] However, its medium version's chip damage has been lowered from 8 to 4.
  *[EDIT] The last hit of Multi Tail Whip also deals soft knockdown now.
 *[CHANGE] The super sparks are now visible.
 *[NERF] The hypers no longer give power back.
 *[EDIT] The rocket in Sudden Rocket is no longer affected by guardpush.
 *[BUFF] Buffed the attack stat from 90 to 100.
 *[CHANGE] Some A.I. changes.

-v1.6 (August 30, 2023)
 *[EDIT/NERF/BUFF/IDK honestly] The damage dampener was changed.
 *[NERF] Charge and Multi Tail Whip's damage output has been lowered due to them being rather too high.
 *[FIX] Corrected the type for crouching light punch (it was originally set to standing instead of crouching for some reason).
 *[FIX] The position in the strong punches (back kicks) in frame 2. The same weird error was fixed in some of Multi Tail Whip's frames and all of Sudden Rocket's frames.
 *[CHANGE] The A.I. should now be able to use crouching attacks more often.

 *[FIX] An oversight made it not possible to cancel specials into hypers.

 *[BUFF] All possible Normals have longer range. This makes it slightly easier for them to connect.

 *[ADD] Five more victory quotes, three of which are character-specific.

============================================================================================================================================================================3. GAMEPLAY

-MAIN GAMEPLAY-
Chuih is a character who mainly focuses on rushdown and then comboing from his melee attacks, two of which give him long horizontal distance. Chuih does not have any projectiles in his arsenal, although he does have an assist in the form of ChuChus. The amount of melee attacks, however, gives Chuih more combos, especially in the corner. His Push Block has huge knockback, causing the opponent to easily be taken away into the other corner.

All specials also come with an EX version, a stronger version that requires 500 power and gives some longer endlag, and EX moves require two buttons to be pressed.

-COMBOS-
Chuih's combo system follows the chain comboing one, allowing him to cancel normals into stronger ones, specials, and hypers. Along with that, Chuih can chain most of his specials into hypers. Specials can be cancelled into a different special. He in general has largely easy combos, though the Charge -> Push Slide setup can be tricky if not done fast enough due to its HCF directional input.

In addition, he also has two chain normals, both of which are used in his standing light attack, where he can chain the first normal into the
other one for more combos.

-MECHANICS-
Chuih has a few mechanics to go through. One of them is a dodge, performed with A (light kick for normal characters). When he performs it, he does not get hit from melee attacks and projectiles, giving him a defensive tool, unless he is hit by a throw (which WILL hit him, so don't be surprised when he is hit by a grab for example if he's dodging!). The second one is a power charge, performed with B (medium kick for normal characters). Doing this will cause Chuih to gain power if the button is held, which will give him faster access to EX specials and hypers, though this comes at a cost of not allowing him to move, so make sure you don't abuse it too much. The third one is parrying, performed when you walk forward just before the opponent's attack makes contact, and this mechanic has an airborne version. When performed, Chuih negates all damage the opponent's attack would do to him, while providing small invincibility to not be hit while parrying. Another one is an air dash, performed by pressing forward twice to do a forward one and vice versa. This does not give him any unique properties, but allows him to cancel it into any of his normals, while giving him more air control. And lastly, he has a super jump, performed by pressing X+Y+Z at the same time. This is mainly a defensive mechanic where he can avoid certain attacks that he might not really be able to avoid by air jumping, though this is character-dependant.

-MOVELIST-
SPECIALS:

Push Block: D, DF, F, X/Y/Z
- A push block appears in front of Chuih, pushing the opponent away with very high knockback. The colour of the push block varies depending on the button pressed.
 - EX version: More knockback, must be blocked mid.
  - This is also used for the Guard Cancel, which can be performed by pressing X+Y during blockstun at the cost of 1000 power.

Charge: D, DB, B, X/Y/Z
- Chuih charges onto the opponent, causing soft knockdown on the final hit. Great combo tool and can be used as a tool to approach. Horizontal distance varies depending on the button pressed.
 - EX version: Must be blocked mid, move causes hard knockdown on the final hit.

Push Slide: B, DB, D, DF, F, X/Y/Z
- Chuih slides onto the opponent after a push block pushes him. Horizontal distance varies depending on the button pressed. Causes hard knockdown and must be blocked mid.
 - EX version: Move trips the opponent.

Call ChuChu: D, D, X/Y/Z
- Chuih calls a ChuChu that causes soft knockdown if the opponent is hit. Note that the ChuChu can be hit, though they're quite small so larger characters can have a harder time hitting it. ChuChu's walking speed varies depending on the button pressed.
 - EX version: Calls four ChuChus instead of one.

HYPERS:

Multi Tail Spin: D, DF, F, D, DF, F, X+Y/Y+Z (uses 1000 power)
- Chuih spins his tail several times, causing soft knockdown on the final hit. Great combo tool.

Sudden Rocket: D, DB, B, D, DB, B, X+Y/Y+Z (uses 2000 power)
- Chuih calls a rocket that charges onto the opponent, knocking them down.

-ULTIMATE- 
The ultimate is a move that is performed by crouching thrice and pressing X+Y+Z. The move covers the entire floor (for Chuih's case), dealing almost enough damage to K.O. the opponent if at full HP, and can only be performed after the "DANGER!" message appears, while giving them full invincibility during its duration. 

Chuih's ultimate - Trap Hole:
Chuih summons a hole that traps the opponent by sinking them into it. A different one off-screen at the top will cause the opponent to then fall down, screaming (if they have a K.O. scream), receiving damage after hitting the ground.

4. PALETTES
Chuih has a total of 12 palettes, all of which can be selected if you press a different button when you're at the character select screen. Note that palettes 7-12 can only be selected if you hold start (which is used for the taunt). However, Chuih comes with a palette selector, which allows the player to select any of the 12 palettes, which can be helpful if they change their mind before the match can start. Below are the palettes:

A: Default
B: Red
C: Yellow
X: Green
Y: Orange
Z: Purple
Start+A: Reverse
Start+B: Brown
Start+C: Inverted
Start+X: Gray
Start+Y: Cyan
Start+Z: Dark

5. NOTES

-THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH HIM-
 1. Make a match with him.
 2. Share it with your friends/fans in case you would want them to gain a potential interest in ChuChu Rocket.
 3. Give him an A.I. patch if you want his A.I. to be stronger. No permission needed, though credit will be still appreciated. :)
 4. Create additional palettes for him, in case you would want more variety or have your own palettes.
 5. Send me feedback if there are any oddities, oopsies, or bugs, especially that can affect his gameplay.

-THINGS YOU CANNOT DO WITH HIM-
 1. Make NSFW/18+ edits (this includes vore edits.).
 2. Bash him (it's a waste of time. There are better ways of using your time rather than bashing. This isn't the 2010s anymore anyways).
 3. Make spriteswaps or paletteswaps of him, because doing them is laziness and is disrespectful. 
 4. Giving deconstructive feedback (such as "Your char sucks lol, learn how to make chars dork", or "Lol you can't make chars properly, you're a loser"), as it sounds more like insulting not just the character, but me.

-THINGS THAT REQUIRE PERMISSION-
 1. As I tend to have trust issues with some Mugen content creators, editing him requires permission from me. Note that what can be edited are combos, gameplay, and other stuff, but absolutely no NSFW/18+ edits as mentioned earlier.
 2. Using codes from the character if you're creating a Mugen character yourself. It's better to learn how to code instead of steal, so if you would want to use some of his code, ask me first.
 3. Use of sprites in a different project.

-KNOWN ISSUES-
 1. The A.I. code is not perfect, but I tried.

-OTHER NOTES-
 1. This character was made only for Mugen 1.0 and up. Older versions of Mugen will not load the character.
 2. Tested on Mugen 1.1, but still works on Mugen 1.0.
