Blover (v1.10.1) by DeluxeGamer705
From: Plants vs. Zombies
============================================================================================================================================================================

Plants vs. Zombies is one of my favourite games, and when it comes to making characters from PvZ for Mugen, it can be quite hard, but sometimes it can be an easy task. I decided to give a try at making a PvZ character for Mugen, and I decided to choose Blover due to him being one of my favourite plants and I couldn't find any versions of him at a time.

============================================================================================================================================================================
1. WHO IS BLOVER?

Blover is a plant that appears in Plants vs. Zombies since the first game from 2009. He is a clover-based plant that is able to blow away fog and any airborne zombies out of the sky. In the first game, Blover is the fourth plant unlocked in the Fog area, and he blows away Balloon Zombies and fog. He isn't a permament defense, but he can use to get Balloon Zombies and the fog away, especially the former if there are too many on-screen. His appearance in PvZ2 made him 50 sun cheaper. In PvZ3, he only appears if the player wants to continue in case they receive a game over.

*[CHANGE] Blover has been resprited, and the animations were changed to make them more fluid.
*[CHANGE] Peashooter received new sprites, and his Pea also received a resprite.
*[CHANGE] Wall-nut, which appears in Blover's guarding animations, now makes use of custom sprites instead of using the sprites from the DS version of PvZ.

 *[RENAME] Finisher to Ultimate.

Also it seems that my hype for PvZ Replanted (which is why v1.9 was released) was not worth given how poorly it was received despite the updates trying to undo the damage. :(

3. GAMEPLAY

-MAIN GAMEPLAY-
Blover is a character that focuses on ground combos. In addition, he also has some moves with large hitboxes that can be used from distance to get the opponent away from him. He also comes with an assist that uses power and fires a projectile.

Some of his moves are encased in square brackets ([ ]) as seen in this readme. These mean that the button (mainly a directional input)
must be held down for the move to be performed. All specials also come with an EX version, a stronger version that requires 500 power and
gives some longer endlag, and EX moves require two buttons to be pressed.

-COMBOS-
Blover does not do pretty well when it comes to air combos, due to no airborne specials/hypers. As a result, Blover instead focuses on ground combos, mostly via multi-hits, though he is also able to chain Leaf Spin into Knock Blow, and then into any of his two hypers. As a result, Blover will be mainly controlled when grounded, unless an airborne attack can cause some stuff that can give him an advantage.

-MECHANICS-
Blover has a few mechanics to go through. One of them is a dodge, performed with A (light kick for normal characters). When he performs it, he does not get hit from melee attacks and projectiles, giving him a defensive tool, unless he is hit by a throw (which WILL hit him, so don't be surprised when he is hit by a grab for example if he's dodging!). The second one is a power charge, performed with B (medium kick for normal characters). Doing this will cause Blover to gain power if the button is held, which will give him faster access to EX specials and hypers, though this comes at a cost of not allowing him to move, so make sure you don't abuse it too much, especially since he's so slow during it. The third one is parrying, performed when you walk forward just before the opponent's attack makes contact, and this mechanic has an airborne version. When performed, Blover negates all damage the opponent's attack would do to him, while providing small invincibility to not be hit while parrying. Another one is an air dash, performed by pressing forward twice to do a forward one and vice versa. This does not give him any unique properties, but allows him to cancel it into any of his normals, while giving him more air control. And lastly, he has a super jump, performed by pressing X+Y+Z at the same time. This is mainly a defensive mechanic where he can avoid certain attacks that he might not really be able to avoid by air jumping, though this is character-dependant.

-MOVELIST-
SPECIALS:

Leaf Spin: D, DF, F, X/Y/Z
- Blover spins his leaves several times, causing soft knockdown if the opponent is airborne on the final hit. Great combo tool.
 - EX version: Last hit causes soft knockdown regardless of which state.

Choose a Plant: [B], F, X/Y/Z
- Blover looks up as three seed packets appear - Peashooter, Starfruit, and Squash. He looks forward when the plant is planted. The amount of power that is required to be used varies depending on the plant, with the mechanic being present to be faithful to the source game. To choose a plant, press the button that responds for its respective plant:
 - Peashooter (X): Shoots a pea at the opponent, causing soft knockdown if they're airborne. Requires 100 power. Does not disappear unless he is hit, and if hit, a 5-second cooldown is triggered.
 - Starfruit (Y): Shoots 5 stars, each one in a different direction. Requires 125 power. Does not disappear unless he is hit, and if hit, a 5-second cooldown is triggered.
 - Squash (Z): Stands still. If the opponent comes near him, they'll be put in a custom state, curious what is Squash about to do. Then he'll jump onto them, squashing them (duh). If he is hit by anything without his hitbox during his standing animation connecting with the opponent's hurtbox, he'll do his attack instantly. Uses 50 power, but has a 8-second cooldown if he disappears.

Knock Blow: F, DF, D, DB, B, X/Y/Z
- Blover knocks the opponent away by blowing them, causing soft knockdown. Can be a good combo tool.
 - EX version: Causes a wall bounce with more knockback.
  - This is also used for the Guard Cancel, performed by pressing X+Y during blockstun at the cost of 1000 power.

Falling Leaf: D, DB, B, X/Y/Z
- Blover looks up as a leaf falls down, hitting the opponent. Can be used as a combo extender to deal slightly more damage.
 - EX version: Hitstun is slightly longer.

------------------------
HYPERS:

Blow Away: D, DF, F, D, DF, F, X+Y (uses 1000 power)
- Blover blows the opponent away. The knockback is very high and the hitbox is very large.

Leaf Wave: D, DF, F, D, DF, F, Y+Z (uses 2000 power)
- Blover blows five leaves onto the opponent. The move is stronger if the character is large enough to be hit by the leaves.

-ULTIMATE-
The ultimate is a move that is performed by crouching thrice and pressing X+Y+Z. The move covers the entire screen, dealing almost enough damage to K.O. the opponent if at full HP, and can only be performed after the "DANGER!" message appears, while giving them full invincibility during its duration.

Blover's ultimate - Doom-Shroom:
Blover looks forward as Doom-Shroom is summoned. After a short while, Doom-Shroom will explode and throw the opponent up.

============================================================================================================================================================================
4. PALETTES
Blover has a total of 12 palettes, all of which can be selected if you press a different button when you're at the character select screen. Note that palettes 7-12 can only be selected if you hold start (which is used for the taunt). However, Blover comes with a palette selector, which allows the player to select any of the 12 palettes, which can be helpful if they change their mind before the match can start. Below are the palettes:

A: Default
B: Red
C: Yellow
X: Blue
Y: Orange
Z: Purple
Start+A: Pink
Start+B: Cyan
Start+C: Gray
Start+X: White
Start+Y: Browncoat
Start+Z: Shroom

5. NOTES

-THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH HIM-
 1. Make a match with him.
 2. Share it with your friends/fans in case you would want them to gain a potential interest in the PvZ series.
 3. Give him an A.I. patch if you want his A.I. to be stronger. No permission needed, though credit will be still appreciated. :)
 4. Create additional palettes for him, in case you would want more variety or have your own palettes.
 5. Send me feedback if there are any oddities, oopsies, or bugs, especially that can affect his gameplay.

-THINGS YOU CANNOT DO WITH HIM-
 1. Make NSFW/18+ edits (this includes vore edits.).
 2. Bash him (it's a waste of time. There are better ways of using your time rather than bashing. This isn't the 2010s anymore anyways).
 3. Make spriteswaps or paletteswaps of him, because doing them is laziness and is disrespectful.
 4. Giving deconstructive feedback (such as "Your char sucks lol, learn how to make chars dork", or "Lol you can't make chars properly, you're a loser"), as it sounds more like insulting not just the character, but me.

-THINGS THAT REQUIRE PERMISSION-
 1. As I tend to have trust issues with some Mugen content creators, editing him requires permission from me. Note that what can be edited are combos, gameplay, and other stuff, but absolutely no NSFW/18+ edits as mentioned earlier.
 2. Using codes from the character if you're creating a Mugen character yourself. It's better to learn how to code instead of steal, so if you would want to use some of his code, ask me first.
 3. Use of sprites in a different project.

-KNOWN ISSUES-
 1. The A.I. code is not perfect, but I tried.

-OTHER NOTES-
 1. This character was made only for Mugen 1.0 and up. Older versions of Mugen will not load the character.
 2. Tested on Mugen 1.1, but still works on Mugen 1.0.

============================================================================================================================================================================
6. INSTALLATION

Struggling with adding Blover to your roster? No worries, here's how to do it:

1. Unpack the character's folder and add it in the chars folder
2. Go to data and open select
3. Paste the following name in the character section: Blover

And here you go! Blover should now appear anytime you start Mugen.
